Show Your Support For Improved Access To Colorado's Capitol With Sky-Blue 'Capitol Clear' Pins

Posted: Feb. 20, 2018

A bill calling for the creation of a Capitol Identification Card has passed its first committee hurdle, Senate Finance, and is awaiting calendaring in its second, Senate Appropriations.

But soon, no matter the committee or chamber, you'll be able to show your support professionally and prominently.

Sky-blue aluminum "Capitol Clear" lapel badges measuring just an inch and a quarter wide -- think "museum admission badge" -- will soon be widely available at Colorado's Capitol. The badges are free and Amendment 41-compliant. CLA has agreed to help distribute the badges to raise awareness of the need for improved access to the Capitol by heavy users of the complex, lobbyists included. The fee-based program called for in SB18-116 would pay for itself, the bill's fiscal note reveals.

While all of the elements of the Capitol ID Card program have yet to be legislated, the need for better access is great, CLA's member and prospective members report in a recently conducted survey. The survey results are being shared in real-time with CLA members and will be publicly shared at some point.

But you don't have to wait to see the Capitol Clear badge.
