Guiding Principles
The following principles will help guide the Board of Directors of the Colorado Lobbying Association as it evaluates policy proposals to determine whether or not to engage and, if so, the level of engagement.

Do No Harm
Ensure policy proposals will not harm or impose new restrictions/requirements on Association members or the lobbying profession as a whole.

Support and Amplify
Support and amplify the work of the lobbying profession. The Association will likely engage in activities such as: Community Service, Social Endeavors, and other efforts benefiting social needs.

Must Apply to the Whole
No policy proposal should be engaged solely for the benefit of one or a few members. Rather, the Association shall only engage on a policy proposal if it broadly applies to the lobbying profession as a whole.

Any member believing this principle has not been followed may submit their position to the Board of Directors, who shall promptly consider the complaint. A majority vote of the Board is necessary to decide on the complaint. The member shall be notified of the Board decision.
